Busy Week!
This was a very busy week for Chase (and me)! On Tuesday, we drove down to Massachusetts to meet Jenna's new baby girl, Sierra.
Lounging around on matching His & Hers Boppys!
On Wednesday, Chase had his first babysitters. Mimi and Lily came in the morning to watch him for a few hours while I spent the day helping my sister at the gallery.
And Nana and Grandpa watched him at our house in the evening while Rob and I went out to dinner for his birthday.

Who's the Boss?
Chase! These days, everything revolves around him- feeding, changing and sleeping. It's been a lot of work, but it is definitely worth it!

The First Week
We made it through week one! The first few days were a little rough with a couple of sleepless nights, but we are starting to develop a good sleeping pattern now. For the past two nights, he actually slept in his crib for the whole night (well, waking up to eat once or twice, of course)! He also likes to play this little game on us, where we will change his poopy diaper and right when we put the new diaper on, he poops some more! We end up using two diapers for every changing! Rob and I have also had our fair share of being pee'd on! This morning it went everywhere! It's a good thing we have a sense of humor about it!

Leaving the hospital! It was 90 degrees and sunny outside!
We've been so blessed to have so many people prepare meals for us and offer us help this week. I'm dreading tomorrow when Rob will be returning to work, and I'll be on my own with Chase. But, I know I have two sets of grandparents only a few miles away if I need anything!
Here are a few of our favorite photos from the week. These first two are the professional ones taken in the hospital.

He's Here!
Our long-awaited, much anticipated son has finally arrived! Chase was born on May 23 at 10:29 pm, weighing 9 pounds, 1 ounce and 21 inches long. After arriving at the hospital at 7:00 am on Sunday morning (41 weeks), they induced labor and contractions began. Around noon, the doctor broke my water and at 6:00 pm I was 6 cm dilated. At 7:00 pm, I got an epidural. It was not in my original birth plan to do so, but neither was the pitocin, IV, or being confined to the bed, so I just went for it... and it was the best decision ever! It only took one more hour until I was ready to start pushing! It was an awesome experience, and way better than I thought! Right after he was born, one of the first things I said was, "I'd do that again!"

We are so happy to finally have him home. He had his first doctor visit today, and everything checked out great! I'll post more pictures soon... baby is calling for his mama!
