Baby #2 on the Way!

That's right, I'm pregnant again! I am about 8 weeks along, and I had my first ultrasound today. I got to see the little peanut (about 1 inch long) and see the heartbeat. It was so exciting, and it's such a relief to know the baby is growing well so far! I've been feeling more morning sickness this time around, so my fingers are crossed for a girl!

If you need help figuring this out, the head is on the right, you can almost see little arm buds coming off the sides, and it has a little tail!

In other news, Chase is almost 17 months old now, and he has an extensive vocabulary. Some of the things he says just crack us up!

Cheerios = oh-ee-oh-ee-ohs
Show = yo
Kitty = ditty
What a Kitty (or any animal says) = moo

He loves to rough-house with daddy on the floor every night before bedtime. But, most of the day, he's seen grabbing at my ankles, begging to be held. He loves to help me cook and stir whatever is in hot pots boiling, which does pose a problem sometimes! Some days are a lot of fun, but definitely exhausting. It's usually more stressful to be home than at work! I love my job, and it's a great balance to be out of the house part-time. I hope to keep making that work when the second one arrives.

15 Month Photo Shoot

Chase is developing quite the personality these days! It's been a lot of fun, but a lot of my days are spent chasing Chase! Here are some cute pics from today.

I think I have a little bit too much fun with my graphic design! Well, it's late, and I'm exhausted!

Chase is One!

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted an update on here... I'm not really sure if anyone actually reads this anymore anyway! On Sunday, May 22, we had a backyard birthday party for Chase with family and some friends. It was a really fun day (a little cold for late May), but I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Chase was such a ham, and he soaked up all the extra attention! He loved his new little ride-on car, espcially pushing it all around the yard.

He also enjoyed the cake that I made, but he didn't care too much for the party hat! But, it's his party, he can cry if he wants to!

He was looking cute in his birthday shirt and rock star glasses!

And here is a picture of the cake I made with fondant frosting, using cupcakes (in the shape of a 1 "one") with pictures of Chase from each month on top. The cake also matched the invitation. It was a lot of work, but fun to do!

Dreaming of Spring...

It's so beautiful outisde right now as I write this. The sun is shining, the snow is melting... it's like maybe 55 degrees out, but it's a glimpse of spring. We just enjoyed a nice (impromptu) lunch at T-BONES to celebrate my dad's birthday. I love getting together with family. It's nice to get out too. I feel like I've been so cooped up in this house. I'm ready for some nice weather so we can start taking family walks around the block and not have to worry about bundling up so much! Well, here's a few nice shots from our 9-month photo session at CLIX yesterday. Despite having a little bit of a cold, Chase did a great job workin' the camera! I just love him so much!

Growing Up!

Chase is growing up so fast - he'll be 9 months old this week! I have been really bad about taking pictures and blogging, but I've been trying really hard to savor these days. I'm very content with life at the moment... of course, who wouldn't be when you get to wake up to such a cute little smile every morning! Rob and I have been trying to get out a little more now (emerge from the cave) and get a little bit of a social life back! We actually had our first "real babysitters" the last two weekends. We got to go ice skating and out to dinner for Valentine's Day, and we had a girl from church (and her mom) watch Chase for a few hours. Then, last night we got to go out for bowling and ice cream with friends, and we had my cousin, Abbie, babysit. Of course, we didn't go out til after Chase was in bed, but hey! (He goes to bed at 7 every night!) I feel so grown up! It makes me remember when I used to babysit. It's definitely so different having your own children!

Here's a little Valentine's card I made:

And he also made valentines for mommy and daddy: (hehe!)

In other news, Chase is crawling everywhere. He especially loves to crawl into the kitchen and play with the trash and recycling and eat any crumbs that are on the floor (don't worry, I stop him...er, mostly). He likes to play with anything that's not a toy (and he's less interested in toys)! He loves the vaccum, and follows me around the house when I use it. He loves watching me dry my hair and brush my teeth. Which is good, because that's about all I do to get ready these days. Chase also loves finger foods and seems less interested in baby food. He can be distracted long enough to force it in, but it is usually a battle!  He loves playing at the top of the stairs with the new gate that daddy built. It's great seeing his face light up when daddy comes home from work.

Here's a few more favorites from this month:

 Chase is not the only one growing up too fast... I'm going to be 27 this Friday! I feel so old!

Chase-kovsky

Chase is learning how to play the piano at Nana's house. Here's a video of him on Christmas day with Uncle Seth!
